What is the PSA?

The Professional Standards Authority (PSA) reviews all final fitness to practise decisions made by our Panels and by the other eight UK regulators of health and social care professions.

How do we work with the PSA?

The PSA may refer a hearings decision to Court if it considers that the decision does not protect the public properly.

These are known as 'section 29 referrals', as they are based upon the PSA's powers under Section 29 of the National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002.
