Allegation

Whilst registered as Paramedic and employed with South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, on or around 21 November 2015 you;

1. Attended to Patient A who was experiencing symptoms of a myocardial infarction and you did not provide adequate care to Patient A in that you:

a. allowed Patient A to walk from his home to the ambulance;

b. administered oxygen to Patient A although the oxygen saturation levels were acceptable;

c. spent about forty-eight minutes instead of expediting conveyance to hospital, exceeding the minimal on-scene time for patients suspected of having myocardial infarction;

d. did not transmit Patient A ECGs for review, using the Ambulance ePCR technology;

e. did not ensure Patient A was driven under emergency driving conditions to Dorchester County Hospital;

f. did not pre-alert the Emergency Department of Dorchester County hospital where Patient A was taken;

g. took Patient A to Dorchester County Hospital which did not deliver Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (pPCI);

h. delayed in conveying Patient A to Bournemouth General Hospital which delivered Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (pPCI) treatment;

2. The matters described in paragraphs 1(a) (h) constitute misconduct and/or lack of competence.

3. By reason of your misconduct and/or lack of competence, your fitness to practise is impaired.
