Order

The Interim Conditions of Practice order is confirmed:

1) You must confine your general professional practice to seeing adult patients only (above the age of 16);

2) You must confine your paediatric professional practice to seeing child patients (above the age of 10) requiring musculo-skeletal treatment only, for your current employer;

3) Except in life threatening emergencies you must not be involved in the direct provision of services to female service users unless;

A. the service user has consented to a chaperone and one is present or,
B. the service user has declined a chaperone, having been offered one.

4) You must maintain a record of:

A. Every contact where you have been involved in the direct provision of services to female service users indicating in each case whether 3)A or 3)B applies; and
B. Every contact where you are involved in a direct provision of services to such service users in a life threatening emergency and without a chaperone being present.

5) You must provide a copy of these records to the HCPC 7 days before a hearing in front of the HCPC or alternatively confirm that there have been no such cases during that period.

6) You must place yourself and remain under the direct supervision of a workplace supervisor(s):

A. for two consultations per month with regard to your adult patients (the consultations must be randomly selected by your supervisor and must include a mix of initial assessments and follow up treatments)
B. for all children (age 10-16) for initial assessment and discharge appointments only;
(Direct supervision in this context means direct observation of full clinical consultations. The supervisor(s) must be registered as a physiotherapist by the HCPC and working at a level of no less than the equivalent of a Band 6 physiotherapist).

7) You must place yourself and remain under the indirect supervision of a workplace supervisor(s) for all consultations with patients aged 10-16 years of age, any domiciliary visits and a selection of adult consultations (all consultations must be randomly selected by your supervisor and must include a mix of initial assessments and follow up treatments).
(Indirect supervision in this context means a meeting with the supervisor at least every four weeks to review your caseload. The supervisor(s) must be registered as a physiotherapist by the HCPC and working at a level of no less than the equivalent of a Band 6 physiotherapist).

8) You must supply details of any change of supervisor(s) to the HCPC within 7 days of the date of that change of supervisor(s).

9) You must allow your supervisor to provide information to the HCPC about the standard of your clinical practice within 4 weeks of the date of this hearing and every eight weeks thereafter.

10) You must confine your out of hours work to planned patients in a clinical or domiciliary setting.

11) You must not undertake any on-call duties.

12) You must promptly inform the HCPC if you cease to be employed by your current employer or take up any other or further employment.
