Allegation

Whilst registered with the HCPC as a Social Worker, you:

 

  1. During the course of your employment as a Social Worker at the London Borough of Sutton between 16 August 2016 and 23 October 2016, you:
  1. On or around 20 October 2016, telephoned a family member of Service User A and spoke in an unprofessional manner about Sutton Children's Services, in that you:
  1. stated Sutton Children's Services were 'ruthless ******* that ain't happy and will set up pressure for the mother of Service User A to fail if they don't get what they want' or words to that effect;
  2. stated the Head of the Service is 'spineless and that he will not act on anything we complain about and he knows what's going with the unjust things that have happened', or words to that effect;
  3. stated that Sutton Children's Services had discriminated against the mother of Service User A because of her mental health;
  4. stated that you were a 'scape goat', or words to that effect;
  5. presented a false picture of the actual situation regarding Service User A; and
  6. caused distress to the family of Service User A.

 

  1. In the weekend of 22 – 23 October 2016:

a) telephoned the family of service user A and supplied confidential information which resulted in Sutton Children's Services having to take out an emergency protection order in relation to Service User A;

b) breached professional boundaries by using your personal telephone to call the family of Service User A, as your work mobile telephone had been removed from you on 21 October 2016.

 

  1. On an unknown date, at Carshalton Boys School, and later in the office, presented as severely agitated following the school’s request to see your DBS check.

 

  1. On an unknown date, spoke in an unprofessional manner to Service User B in that you stated you were “street”, and/or “wasn't a namby pamby like these Sutton people”, or words to that effect.

 

  1. During the period of your employment with the London Borough of Sutton, you progressed only 4 of 28 cases for which you were responsible.

 

  1. Did not disclose that you had worked for Richmond Council in a curriculum vitae which you:

a) provided to Liquid Personnel in 2015;

b) subsequently updated with a recruitment consultant from Liquid

 

  1. The matters set out in particulars 7 (a) and/ or 7 (b) constitute dishonesty.

 

  1. The matters set out in paragraphs 1 - 7 constitute misconduct.

 

  1. By reason of your misconduct your fitness to practise is impaired
