The Interim Conditions of Practice Order imposed on 13 October 2017, as set out below, is confirmed with the conditions varied as follows:
1) You must not carry out work as a paramedic unless directly supervised by a:
A. Paramedic registered by the Health and Care Professions Council, or
B. Nurse or Midwife registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, or
C. Medical Practitioner registered by the General Medical Council.
2) In any case you must not undertake any procedure that is not within the scope of practice of your supervisor.
3) In respect of any work you undertake as a Paramedic you must:
A. make and keep a record of every shift you work, the details to include (i) the location, (ii) the date, (iii) the times between which you work, (iv) the identity and profession of the person who supervises you in accordance with condition (1); and,
B. make and keep a record of every clinical patient contact you have during each shift you work. The details included in record must include details of (i) the patient (consistent with patient confidentiality), (ii) the patient’s presenting condition, (iii) your assessment of the patient; (iv) any care/treatment or advice provided, (v) patient outcome; and,
C. the documents you are required to make by A and B immediately above must be countersigned by the individual who supervises your work in accordance with condition (1), and in requesting the signature, the supervisor must be given the opportunity to comment in writing on your clinical conduct should they so wish; and,
D. if you do not have any clinical patient contact during any shift you work, you must state that you have had no clinical patient contact in the document countersigned by your supervisor; and,
E. the documents you are required to make and keep by conditions A, B and D immediately above must be sent to the HCPC no later than 14 days before any future review of the interim order.
4) You must promptly inform the HCPC if you cease to be employed by your current employer or take up any other or further employment.
5) You must promptly inform the HCPC of any disciplinary proceedings taken against you by your employer.
6) You must inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions:
A. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;
B. any agency you are registered with or apply to be registered with (at he time of application); and any prospective employer (at the time of your application).
C. Any prospective employer (at the time of your application).
