Allegation

Whilst working as a registered paramedic for North West Ambulance Services:

1. On or around 7 October 2017, after administering morphine to a patient, you allowed a less qualified colleague, Colleague A, to attend to the patient while you drove the ambulance.

2. On or around November 2017 you sent Colleague A messages about the patient you attended on 7 October 2017 in which you:

a) Contested Colleague A's recollection of events.

b) Suggested that Colleague A should recall driving to the hospital.

3. On or around 7 October 2017, you attended a patient with chest pain and you:

a) Did not complete a 12-lead ECG.

b) Did not contact the patient's GP and/or make a follow-up referral.

4. On or around 7 October 2017 you attended a 3 year old patient with a temperature and you did not convey them to a health care facility.

5. On or around 28 November 2017, lost concentration and/or fell asleep whilst driving an ambulance.

6. On or around 29 December 2017, while attending a patient in cardiac arrest, you:

a) Caused an unnecessary delay in the emergency transport of the patient due to transferring a packet of cigarettes to another ambulance.

b) Behave inappropriately and unprofessionally in that you were laughing and/or being jovial.

7. On or around 1 January 2018, whilst attending a patient who had a history of seizures, you:

a) Advised Colleague A to transfer the patient in a wheelchair; and

b) Did not provide an adequate handover to Colleague A thereby leaving the patient without adequate continuing care. ; and/or

c) Were not available to assist when the patient subsequently had another seizure.

8. On 13 January 2018, in relation to a patient who presented with jaundice and a low temperature, you:

a) Left the patient unattended

b) Did not undertake regular observations of the patient.

9. The matters set out at paragraphs 1-8 amount to misconduct and/or lack of competence.

10. By reason of your misconduct and/or lack of competence your fitness to practise is impaired.
