(as amended on day 1 of the hearing, namely, 12 April 2021)
As a registered Practitioner Psychologist (PYL27217) your fitness to practise is impaired by reason of misconduct and/or lack of competence. In that:1. You wrote an Educational Psychology Observation Report (“Report”) for Child A:
a) Which did not have a child-centred approach;
b) Which was not in the best interests of Child A;
c) Which did not have Child A’s views at the centre of the process;
d) Which did not identify, adequately or at all, Child A’s strengths, difficulties and/or barriers to learning;
e) which contained observations and/or statements that
i) did not clarify the source of the information;
ii) made Assumptions were made about Child A’s behaviour;
iii) Used inappropriate and emotive wording within the report, stating that “Child A’s words and actions are not to be trusted".
f) that which did not draw upon information provided to explore Child A’s behaviour;
g) Which made suggestions for managing Child A’s behaviours, but
i) Provided no evidence for these suggestions;
ii) Provided no indication of the relevance of the interventions;
iii) The suggestions were inappropriate for a child with PDA.
h) Which did not, adequately or at all, take the concerns of Child A’s parents into consideration;
i) Which did not take Child A’s diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder [ASD] with pathological demand avoidance [PDA] and Asperger’s into consideration.
j) You which did not respond appropriately to Parent 1 and 2’s concerns about the report.
k) which did not record the length of time spent with Child A during the visit and/or Child A’s response to being asked to meet.
2. The matters set out in allegation 1 above constitute misconduct and/or lack of competency.
3. By reason of your misconduct and/or lack of competence your fitness to practise is impaired.
