Allegation

As a registered Arts Therapist (AS16094) your fitness to practice is impaired by reason of misconduct. In that:

1. You did not maintain professional boundaries in relation to a young person, in that:

a. Between June 2018 and March 2019 you contacted the young person via social media in a non-professional capacity

b. Between June 2018 and March 2019 you informed the young person of seasonal work at your partner’s restaurant

c. Between June 2018 and March 2019 you communicated with the young person over whatsapp in a non-professional capacity

d. Between June 2018 and March 2019 you met the young person in public in

a non-professional capacity

e. Between June 2018 and March 2019 you allowed the young person to stay overnight at your family home

f. Between June 2018 and March 2019 you offered the young person texts and workbooks relating to sexual abuse in a non- professional capacity

g. On 11 March 2019, you allowed the young person to stay at your home while you went to work

h. On 11 March 2019, you allowed the young person to look after your children while you were at work

2. Between June 2018 and March 2019, you did not notify the young person’s placement and/or social worker in a timely manner about the contact you were having with the young person and/or the young person’s whereabouts.

3. You did not notify the HCPC in a timely manner that Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) had concluded on 21 February 2019 that you had behaved towards a child or children in a way that indicated you may pose a risk of harm to children.

4. Between February and March 2019, you did not raise safeguarding concerns in respect of a young service user with your employer in a timely manner.

5. Your conduct in relation to allegations 2 and 3 was dishonest.

6. The matters set out in allegations 1-5 constitute misconduct.

7. By reason of your misconduct your fitness to practice is impaired.
