Allegation
As a registered Paramedic (PA31961) your fitness to practise is impaired by
reason of misconduct and/or lack of competence, in that:
1. On 20 April 2018, when attending an emergency call, you:
a) Administered medication to Patient A incorrectly by administering Adrenaline 1:1000 intravenously instead of intramuscularly;
b) Did not communicate your error to Patient A; and/or did not communicate your error to Colleague A in a timely manner;
c) Asked Patient A to walk to the ambulance, rather than assisting him;
d) Did not pre-alert the Royal Victoria Hospital of suspectedanaphylaxis; and/or your drug error;
e) Did not travel in the rear of the ambulance with Patient A as the senior clinician present
f) Did not highlight your drug error on Patient A’s Patient Report Form.
2. On 25 April 2018 and/or 26 June 2018, in the course of being interviewed by Mr Lockhart about the incident on the 20 April 2018, you incorrectly identified hypertension as a symptom of anaphylaxis when this is in fact hypotension.
3. The matters set out in Particulars 1 and 2 above constitute misconduct and/or lack of competence.
4. By reason of your misconduct and/or lack of competence your fitness to practise is impaired.
