Order

ORDER: The Registrar is directed to record the following conditions on the Registrant:


1. You must confine your professional practice to the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

2. You must not undertake any out-of-hours work or on-call duties.

3. You must not carry out locum/agency work.

4. You must not practice as an anaesthetic Operating Department Practitioner (“ODP”) unless directly supervised by another qualified and registered anaesthetic Nurse or ODP of at least Band 5 or above deemed competent by the Trust to supervise you.

5. You must place yourself and remain under the indirect supervision of a workplace supervisor of at least Band 6 registered with the HCPC or other appropriate statutory regulator and supply details of your supervisor to the HCPC within 2 weeks of the Operative Date.

6. You must attend upon that workplace supervisor on a monthly basis to discuss your practice and progress including in the following areas:
(a) Physical airway management including cricoid pressure technique
(b) Completion of the Trust anaesthetic competency framework
Your workplace supervisor is to provide the HCPC a report a month before the next review date commenting on your progress in these areas.

7. You must undertake further training in English Language by attending an accredited course and submitting details of attendance at that course to the HCPC.

8. You must obtain recertification from IELTS at a minimum of level 7 within 12 months of the Operative Date.

9. You will be responsible for meeting any and all costs associated with complying with the conditions of attending such English language courses and IELTS re-certification exams costs.

10. You must maintain a daily record of every case where you have practised as the anaesthetic ODP and you must:
(a) provide a copy of your records to the HCPC on a monthly basis, the first report to be provided within one month of the Operative Date and
(b) ensure that the records comply with the following requirements:

(i) provide the dates on which you have undertaken the work;
(ii) the nature of each case;
(iii) feedback from the qualified and registered practitioner directly overseeing your work on the quality and standard of your practice; and
(iv) are signed by your workplace supervisor indirectly overseeing your work.

11. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you cease to be employed by your current employer.

12. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you take up any other or further professional work.

13. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you take up work requiring registration with a professional body outside the United Kingdom and

You must inform the HCPC within seven days of returning to practice in the United Kingdom.

14. You must inform the HCPC within seven days of becoming aware of:
(a) any patient safety incident you are involved in;
(b) any investigation started against you; and
(c) any disciplinary proceedings taken against you.

15. You must inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions: any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work.

Notes

This Order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 28 July 2025 or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
