The Interim Conditions of Practice Order made on 3 July 2024 is varied. The conditions are:

1. Before undertaking work as a Biomedical Scientist, you must:

i. Seek the supervision of a senior Biomedical Scientist;

and thereafter:

ii. Have regular meetings with them discussing your personal development plan and how to improve your practice;

iii. Permit them to give the HCPC feedback on your progress; and

iv. Forward a copy of their feedback to the HCPC within seven days of receiving it.

2. You must remain under the supervision of your supervisor until they sign you off as being competent enough to work autonomously. This should be communicated in writing to the HCPC.

3. You must not carry out any locum or agency work, but must confine your work as a Biomedical Scientist solely to a single employer.

4. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you cease to be employed by your current / new employer.

5. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you take up another or further professional work.

6. You must inform the HCPC within seven days of any disciplinary proceedings taken against you by any employer.

7. You must inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions:

(a) any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work as a Biomedical Scientist;

(b) any agency you are registered with or apply to be registered with (at the time of application); and

(c) any prospective employer (at the time of your application).

This order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 30 October 2025, or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
