Allegation

As a registered Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD04083), on or around 17 April 2023:

1. You amended a job description for the role of ‘lecturer – Health and Care

Professions – Audiology’ when you knew or ought to have known that your

employer had not provided their consent for the amendment(s), in that you:

i. Inserted a section entitled ‘research and publication’

ii. Deleted the section on ‘scope and responsibilities’, and/or

iii. Deleted the table entitled ‘person specification’.

2. You amended a ‘statement of guarantee’ when you knew or ought to have known that your employer had not provided their consent for the amendment(s), in that you, after the words ‘It is confirmed that in this position the applicant will:”

i. Inserted the words ‘lead and direct research projects in Audiology

independently and act as the principal investigator aiming to publish

findings on peer-reviewed journals’, and/or,

ii. Deleted the words ‘leading on aspects of clinical education and

clinical practice in line with his expertise’.

3. You sent the amended job description referred to in Particular 1 above to the Royal Society / Home Office in support of an endorsement application for the purposes of obtaining a Global Talent Visa, when you knew or ought to have known that your employer had not provided their consent for it to be sent.

4. You sent the amended ‘statement of guarantee’ referred to in Particular 2 above to the Royal Society / Home Office in support of an endorsement application for the purposes of obtaining a Global Talent Visa, when you knew or ought to have known that your employer had not provided their consent for it to be sent.

5. In an email to the Royal Society / Home Office, you stated that the attached

‘statement of guarantee’ was from the Head of Human Resources, when this was incorrect.

6. In an email to the Royal Society / Home Office, you stated that the attached job description was for your role, when this was incorrect.

7. Your actions in one or more of Particulars 1-6 were dishonest.

8. The matters set out at Particulars 1-7 above constitute misconduct.

9. By reason of your misconduct, your fitness to practise is impaired.
