Allegation
As a registered Physiotherapist (PH80729):
- On one or more dates between around 10 October 2022 and 21 October 2022 and during Person A’s student placement at the Rose Clinic (“the Clinic”) in London, you:
a.Asked Person A where she lived on one or more occasion;
b.Told Person A that she should move to the same neighbourhood in which the Clinic was located;
c.Told Person A that she should not go to the gym in the evenings and to exercise at the Clinic;
d. Told Person A that she could purchase the Clinic or become a partner at the Clinic;
e. Made comments about Person A’s appearance on one or more occasions;
f. Told Person A that she was “good looking” and/ or “beautiful”;
g. Told Person A “you need to watch how you talk to male clients, they may get the wrong impression” or words to that effect;
h. In response to a patient commenting that Person A was “pretty”, told the patient in the presence of Person A “I know, that’s why I chose her” or words to that effect; and/ or
i. Commented to Person A in the presence of patients that she was “disappointing” and/ or that she would fail her placement on one or more occasions.
2. On 14 October 2022, during a manual therapy training exercise with Person A you:
a. Became visibly aroused;
b. Made comments to the effect of:
i.“that feels really good”;
ii.“I’m very stressed”;
iii.“it’s stressful owning a clinic”;
iv. “it’s nice that you have really warm hands, it’s good for physio to have warm hands”; and/ or
v. “all the girls in my class had cold hands but me and you have warm hands”.
c. Offered to lend Person A money to buy the Clinic from you.
- Your conduct at any or all of particulars 1 (a) to (i) and/ or 2 (a) to (c) above was:
a. A failure to maintain clear professional boundaries with Person A in your role as her Educator during her work placement at the Clinic;
b. An abuse of your position as owner of the Clinic and Person A’s Educator, in that Person A was a student at the Clinic under your supervision; and/or
c. Sexually motivated.
4. The matters set out at particulars 1 –3 above constitute misconduct.
5. By reason of the matters set out above, your fitness to practise is impaired by reason of misconduct.
