Finding

Preliminary Matters

Hearing in Private

1. Ms Thompson, on behalf of the HCPC, applied for the hearing to be held in private given that the circumstances of the case surrounded Child A, whose identity could be revealed notwithstanding the redaction of the child’s name. Both Registrants supported the application. The Panel accepted the advice of the Legal Assessor and determined that this was a hearing in which it was appropriate for proceedings to be held in private to protect the child who featured in this case. No other action would protect the child sufficiently. As such, this is a redacted public copy of the private decision.
