Order
ORDER: The Interim Conditions of Practice Order is confirmed and varied. The conditions are as follows:
You must confine your professional practice to one employer.- You must not carry out autonomous work as a sole Paramedic attending on patients, whether within the NHS or privately.
- You must not carry out locum or agency work.
- You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you take up any professional work as a registered Paramedic.
- You must place yourself and remain under the direct supervision of your workplace supervisor or other qualified medical professional who is NMC, GMC or HCPC registered with relevant mentoring experience for at least one month and thereafter at their discretion.
- You must arrange for a monthly audit of the following areas of practice by your workplace supervisor:
A. Record-keeping, including its accuracy and its clinical appropriateness;
B. Your role in triage and your interactions with patients/service users;
C. Clinical assessments;
D. Decision-making. - Your workplace supervisor must provide, for the next review of this Interim Order:
A. The results of the monthly audits;
B. A report with regard to your progress whilst under supervision. - You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you cease to be employed in a HCPC registered role.
- You must inform the HCPC within seven days of becoming aware of:
A. any patient safety incident you are involved in;
B. any investigation started against you; and
C. any disciplinary proceedings taken against you. - You must inform any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work that your registration is subject to these conditions.
- You must work with your workplace supervisor to formulate a Personal Development Plan designed to address any deficiencies identified in your practice.
- You must meet with your workplace supervisor on a monthly basis to consider your progress towards achieving the aims set out in your Personal Development Plan.
- You must maintain a reflective practice record detailing examples of your clinical assessments and decision-making, in particular addressing any deficiencies identified in your practice.
- You must provide a copy of this reflective practice record to the HCPC before any review of this Interim Order.
Notes
This order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 10 April 2025 or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
