Order

ORDER: The Interim Conditions of Practice Order made on 3 June 2024 is confirmed.

1. You must not carry out any work as a first contact practitioner.

2. You must place yourself and remain under the indirect supervision of a workplace supervisor being a Band 7 Physiotherapist (or above) registered by the HCPC. Indirect supervision means that you may work single-handed in the relevant area subject to the restrictions and measures put in place by your supervisor. While it is not expected that you will be monitored at all times, it is expected that the supervisor will schedule regular check ins with you and will have general oversight of your work in this area.

3. You must allow your supervisor to conduct face to face observation of your assessment and treatment of at least one patient each fortnight. This observation should also include a review of the patient record you make.

4. You must arrange to meet on a monthly basis with your workplace supervisor which shall include a discussion about and an audit of the following areas of your practice:-

• Record keeping

• Appropriate communication with patients

• Case management with particular regard to referral of patients and risk management

5. You must send to the HCPC a written report of the supervisions (in interim condition 3) and audits written by your supervisor (in interim condition 4), no later than 7 days prior to each interim order review.

6. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you cease to be employed by your current employer.

7. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you take up any other or further professional work.

8. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you take up work requiring registration with a professional body outside the United Kingdom.

9. You must inform the HCPC within seven days of returning to practice in the United Kingdom.

10. You must inform the HCPC within seven days of becoming aware of:

a. any patient safety incident you are involved in;

b. any investigation started against you; and

c. any disciplinary proceedings taken against you.

11. You must inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions:

a. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;

b. any agency you are registered with or apply to be registered with to undertake professional work (at the time of application);

c. any prospective employer for professional work (at the time of your application);

d. any organisation through which you are undertaking professional training.

Notes

This order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 19 September 2025 or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
