Allegation

As a registered Practitioner Psychologist (PYL06278) your fitness to
practise is impaired by reason of misconduct. In that:

1) You did not communicate with Patient A in a professional manner,
in that:

a) during a Care Programme Approach (CPA) meeting in May 2016
you said “Patient A needed to be more proactive” or words to that
effect;

b) on or before 27 September 2016 you told Patient A to “pull up his
trousers” and/or “give himself a kick up the backside” or words to that
effect.

2) You did not provide Patient A with adequate care and/or treatment
and/or you did not act in Patient A’s best interests in that you:

a) you stopped offering Patient A appointments and/or psychological
input from July 2016 with no explanation;

b) did not seek to have another Psychologist who would replace you
once you removed yourself from Patient A’s Care Plan;

c) you made no attempts to contact Patient A and/or schedule further
psychological help for him after July 2016.

3) You did not maintain adequate records for Patient A in that you:

a) did not record a date for his next session and/or a plan for his
treatment after his last appointment with you in July 2016;

b) did not record how the next session would be arranged for Patient
A after his appointment with you in July 2016.

4) You did not discharge Patient A appropriately in that you:

a) did not complete a summary of therapy for Patient A;

b) did not discharge Patient A from the Oxford Health NHS
Foundation Trust’s (the Trust) electronic health record.

5) The matters set out in allegations 1 to 4 constitute misconduct.

6) By reason of your misconduct your fitness to practise is impaired.
