Allegation

As a registered Paramedic (PA09706) your fitness to practise is impaired by reason of misconduct. In that:

 1) On 13 January 2020, you attended Patient A and you did not provide adequate patient care, in that:
  a) You did not communicate effectively with Colleague A to ensure that either you or     Colleague B had reviewed Patient A’s Electrocardiograph [ECG] reading;
  b) You did not accurately review the Electronic Patient Record completed by Colleague A to  ensure that a complete set of observations had been undertaken and/or recorded in Patient A’s Electronic Patient Record, including, but not limited to, oxygen saturations and blood glucose levels;
  c) You did not obtain and/or ensure that a complete history of Patient A’s chest pain was recorded;
  d) You did not recognise that the Electrocardiogram showed Patient A had elevation in the limb leads reading indicating an S-T Elevation Myocardial Infarction and/or you did not verbalise that you had recognised an elevation in the reading;
  e) You did not apply the correct clinical reasoning that the Electrocardiogram met the Primary percutaneous coronary Intervention [PPCI] criteria;
  f) You did not consider whether “Thrombolysis" would be an option for treatment;
  g) You transported Patient A to a non PPCI unit, which caused and/or contributed to a delay in Patient A receiving time sensitive treatment and/or the correct treatment path

 2) On 13 January 2020, you behaved in an unprofessional manner while attending Patient A, when you took a photograph on your mobile phone of Person B without any work related reason to do so.

 3) In relation to Particular 2 you stated that Person C allowed you to take the photograph of Person B, when this was not the case, and:
  a) You said; "He proceeded to show me a picture of Person B as a child which I took a single picture of with my phone with implied consent ", or words to that effect;
  b) You said to Person C, “you would pretend he didn’t know”, or words to that effect.

 4) Your conduct as set out above at Particular 3 was dishonest.

 5) The matters at Particulars 1, 2, 3 and 4 as set out above amount to misconduct.

 6) By reason of your misconduct your fitness to practise is impaired.
