Order

ORDER:
The Interim Conditions of Practice Order made on 22 April 2022 and subsequently varied on 24 October 2022, and extended by the High Court on 19 October 2023 is confirmed. The Conditions are as follows:

  1. You must not carry out any private practice work.
  2. You must confine your professional practice to the East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (“the Trust”).
  3. You must restrict your practice to:
    A. a non patient facing role as a Specialist Paramedic within EOC, restricted to carrying out telephone consultation including telephone triage support for ambulance crew members.
    B. an operational role within your scope of practice as a Specialist Practitioner, but only whilst at all times being directly supervised by a registered healthcare practitioner. That supervisor should be employed or authorised by the Trust, be senior to you and should agree to act as your clinical supervisor. For these purposes “direct supervision” means working in the presence of the clinical supervisor.
  4. You must make your employer and your clinical supervisor aware of the nature and scope of these conditions and the reasons for them, by providing your line manager or supervisor with a copy of this determination.
  5. You must not carry out any direct patient care, other than as provided above, except in a life-threatening situation, where not to do so, would directly and significantly compromise the life or health of the person affected.
  6. You must retain an appropriately anonymised log of all patients on whom you attend in any of the circumstances set out in 3 B or 5 above. That log must be witnessed and countersigned by your clinical supervisor. A copy must be provided to the HCPC at least 14 days before any subsequent hearing.
  7.  You must provide a Report to HCPC, from your line manager,14 days before the date of the next review hearing, in relation to:
    A. your communication with the public including colleagues and patients and;
    B. your compliance with working within your scope of practise.
  8. You must make this Report available to any person authorised to act on behalf of the HCPC.
  9. You must promptly inform the HCPC if you cease to be employed by your current employer.
  10. You must promptly inform the HCPC of any disciplinary proceedings taken against you by your employer.
