ORDER: The Interim Conditions of Practice Order made on 27 November 2023 is confirmed.

The Interim Conditions of Practice are:

Whilst carrying out your role as a paramedic you must:

1) Only work under the direct supervision of at least a Band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic who is registered with the HCPC.

2) Place yourself and remain under the supervision of a clinical practice mentor registered with the HCPC or other appropriate statutory regulator and:

a. notify the HCPC of the details of your mentor within 14 days of the Operative Date
b. attend upon your mentor as required and follow their advice and recommendations;

3) Arrange to meet with your clinical practice mentor every month while in clinical practice to:

a. discuss cases you have attended in the last month;
b. identify any learning points, particularly in relation to patient assessment, clinical decision making and documentation;
c. consider a minimum of 5 cases each month;
d. prepare a written contemporaneous summary of each meeting. Provide these to the HCPC not less than 5 working days prior to any review of this order.

4) Inform the HCPC, within 7 days, if you cease to be employed by your current employer or take up any other or further employment;

5) Inform the HCPC, within 7 days of becoming aware of:

a. any patient safety incident you are involved in;
b. any investigation started against you; and
c. any disciplinary proceedings taken against you.

6) Inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions:

a. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;
b. any agency you are registered with or apply to be registered with (at the time of application); and
c. any prospective employer (at the time of your application).

7) You will be responsible for meeting any and all costs associated with complying with these conditions.

This order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 06 February 2025 or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
