Order

ORDER: The Interim Conditions of Practice Order made on 5 August 2024 is confirmed:
1. You must only be employed by one substantive employer at a time for the purposes of providing professional services as a Biomedical Scientist.

2. You must only provide professional services as a Biomedical Scientist when directly supervised by a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist.
3. You must appoint a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist, who has more clinical experience of working in the UK than you, as your supervisor to formulate a Personal Development Plan. You must:
a. meet with your supervisor at least once each calendar month to consider your progress towards achieving the aims set out in your Personal Development Plan;
b. follow the advice and recommendations of your supervisor;
c. allow your supervisor to provide information to the HCPC about your progress towards achieving the aims set out in your Personal Development Plan;
d. supply details of your supervisor to the HCPC within 14 days of commencing employment;
4. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you cease to be employed as a Biomedical Scientist.
5. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you take up any other or further professional work as a Biomedical Scientist.
6. You must inform the HCPC within seven days of becoming aware of:
a. any patient safety incident you are involved in;

b. any investigation started against you; and

c. any disciplinary proceedings taken against you.

7. You must inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions:
a. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;
b. any prospective employer for professional work (at the time of your application);
c. any organisation through which you are undertaking professional training;
d. any supervisor required by these conditions.

8. You must allow the HCPC to share, as necessary, details about your performance, compliance with, and / or progress under these conditions with:
a. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;
b. any prospective employer for professional work (at the time of your application);
c. any organisation through which you are undertaking professional training;

Notes

This order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 23 January 2025 or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
Right to Apply to the Court
Under Article 31(12) of the Health Professions Order 2001, you may apply to the appropriate court to revoke or vary the conditions imposed.
