Order
ORDER: The Interim Conditions of Practice Order made on 21 July 2025 is varied. The conditions are:
1. You must confine your professional practice to one substantive employer which must not be an agency. You must not undertake locum work.
2. On commencement of employment, you must place yourself and remain under the direct supervision of a HCPC registered Band 6 or above Occupational Therapist within one week of the Operative Date.
3. Within one month of the commencement of employment, you must arrange with your supervisor for an assessment of the following areas;
i. OT process, assessments, clinical decision making and treatment planning for patients
ii. Record keeping and reports
iii. Risk management
iv. Time management
v. Case load management and prioritising case loads
vi. Communicating with patients, relevant others and the wider team
4. Upon the successful completion of your supervisor’s assessment, you must place yourself and remain under the indirect supervision of a HCPC registered Band 6 or above Occupational Therapist.
5. You must work with your supervisor to formulate a Personal Development Plan designed to address the following areas:
i. OT process, assessments, clinical decision making and treatment planning for patients
ii. Record keeping and reports
iii. Risk management
iv. Time management
v. Case load management and prioritising case loads
vi. Communicating with patients, relevant others and the wider team
6. You must arrange for the provision of reports from your supervisor to the HCPC at least seven days prior to every review of this order, addressing your performance in respect of the following areas in your Personal Development Plan:
i. OT process, assessments, clinical decision making and treatment planning for patients
ii. Record keeping and reports
iii. Risk management
iv. Time management
v. Case load management and prioritising case loads
vi. Communicating with patients, relevant others and the wider team
7. You must inform the HCPC within seven days if you cease to be employed by your employer.
8. You must inform the HCPC within seven days of becoming aware of: any patient safety incident you are involved in; any investigation started against you; and any disciplinary proceedings taken against you.
9. You must inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions at the time of your application:
1. any prospective employer for professional work;
2. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;
3. any organisation through which you are undertaking professional training;
4. any supervisor required by these conditions.
10. You must allow the HCPC to share, as necessary, details about your performance, compliance with, and/or progress under these conditions with:
1. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;
2. any organisation through which you are undertaking professional training.
Notes
This order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 20 May 2026 or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
