Allegation

As a registered Practitioner Psychologist (PYL27269):  

1. Between February and March 2022, you did not maintain appropriate professional boundaries with Service User A, in that:  

a. You sent a message to Service User A saying: “if I held you I would never let you go” or words to that effect;  

b. Sent Service User A one or more messages which were of a personal nature  

2. Between 29 March 2022 and 5 April 2022, you did not maintain professional boundaries with Service User A in that:  

a. On 29 March 2022 you met Service User A for a coffee outside Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust (“the Trust”) site(s)  

b. On 29 March 2022 you told Service User A that you were “in love with her” and that you “shouldn’t have fallen in love with a patient” or used words to that effect  

c. On 29 March 2022 you kissed Service User A  

d. On 5 April 2022 you met with Service User A outside the Trust site(s)  

3. You recorded that you were conducting therapeutic exposure sessions with Service User A when this was not case on or around:  

a. 29 March 2022  

b. 5 April 2022  

4. Your actions at 3a. and/or 3b. above were dishonest in that you sought to conceal that you were meeting Service User A outside of Trust property without clinical justification.  

5. Between June 2021 and April 2022 during therapy sessions you told Service User A that:  

a. She did not need to see her psychiatrist  

b. She did not need to take medication anymore  

6. On 26 April 2022, you discharged Service User A from therapy services without clinical justification.  

7. Between March 2022 and April 2023, you did not maintain appropriate professional boundaries with Service User A, in that:  

a. You entered a sexual relationship with Service User A  

b. You gave Service User A one or more gifts  

8. Between February or March 2022 and April 2023 you did not inform your clinical supervisor and/or the Trust about your relationship with Service User A.  

9. Your actions at 8 above were dishonest in that you sought to conceal your relationship with Service User A  

10. From around 25 November 2022 until 21 April 2023, you engaged in abusive and/or manipulative behaviour towards Service User A who was vulnerable, in that:  

a. On 25 November 2022, you shouted at Service User A on a street in London;  

b. On 25 November 2022, you told Service User A that you wanted to kill yourself;  

c. On an unknown date, you said to Service User A “I could go and kill myself too, its not just you.”  

d. On 1 March 2023, you sent a text message to Service User A saying “I really want to die.”  

e. On 2 March 2023, you sent a text message to Service User A saying “I should not be working with vulnerable people… I am sorry that I have found my way into this profession.”  

f. On 21 April 2023, you sent a text message to Service User A saying “am I that controlling that you fear what you can and cannot say to me?”  

g. On 21 April 2023, you sent a text message to Service A saying “you chose to walk away [Service User A] I am sorry that you chose a time when I actually needed you the most”  

h. On an unknown date, you sent a text message to Service User A saying “I am no good for you”.  

11. Your conduct in relation to 1a and/or 1b and/or 2a and/or 2b and/or 2c and/or 2d and/or 7a and/o 7b was sexually motivated.  

12. The matters set out in allegations 1-11 above constitute misconduct.  

13. By reason of your misconduct, your fitness to practise is impaired.
