Preliminary Matters
Conducting the hearing in private
1. At the outset of the hearing Ms Khan, on behalf of the HCPC, made an application for the entirety of the hearing to be conducted in private since it related exclusively to the health of the Registrant. Accordingly, in order to protect her private life it would be appropriate, Ms Khan submitted, for the hearing to be conducted in private.
2. The Registrant supported the application.
3. The Panel considered the application with care and accepted the advice of the Legal Assessor. This Panel is sitting as the Health Committee and the allegation considered at the Consent Hearing was that the Registrant’s fitness to practise was impaired by reason of her health. In these circumstances, the Panel agreed that this review hearing should be conducted wholly in private in order to protect the Registrant’s private life. Similarly, this written determination should be treated as private.
Order
ORDER: The Registrar is directed to further suspend the registration of Katie Davis for a period of six months upon the expiry of the current Order.
Notes
The Order imposed today will apply from 6 December 2023.
This Order will be reviewed again before its expiry on 6 June 2024.
