Order
ORDER: The Registrar is directed to vary the Interim Conditions of Practise Order imposed on 12 February 2023. These conditions are:
1. You must promptly inform the HCPC if you take up any other or further employment.
2. You must promptly inform the HCPC of any disciplinary proceedings taken against you by your employer.
3. You must inform the following parties that your registration is subject to these conditions:
a. any organisation or person employing or contracting with you to undertake professional work;
b. any agency you are registered with or apply to be registered with (at the time of application); and
c. any prospective employer (at the time of your application).
d. any academic establishment where there is the potential for patient contact.
4. You must confine your professional practice to working as a Band 5 Orthoptist and/or an academic Orthoptist role.
5. On one day in every five working days, you must not carry out any patient contact work, as specified in condition 4 above, unless directly supervised by a workplace supervisor. On the remaining days, you must place yourself and remain under the indirect supervision of a workplace supervisor. You must attend upon that supervisor as required and follow their advice and recommendations.
6. You must maintain a record of every case where you have undertaken patient contact work. You must provide a copy of these records to the HCPC 14 days before any review hearing.
7. You must forward to the HCPC, 14 days before any review hearing, a report from your supervisor, both in respect of the indirect and direct supervision, commenting on the following aspects of your work, having reviewed your patient records:
a. Appropriateness of clinical testing, investigations and diagnoses;
b. Management plans;
c. Interaction with patients, and their parents, guardians and carers.
Notes
This order will be reviewed by the Committee no later than 19 March 2024 or earlier if new evidence which is relevant to the Order becomes available after it was made.
